What We Can Help With

Calculator Errors and Bugs

If you encounter an incorrect calculation, unexpected error message, or tool malfunction, please report it immediately. In your message, include:

  • The specific calculator URL or name
  • The exact inputs you entered (concrete grade, cement type, aggregate properties, etc.)
  • The result you received from the calculator
  • What you expected the result to be (with reference if available)
  • Your browser and device (Chrome on Windows, Safari on iPhone, etc.)

We take accuracy seriously and investigate all error reports within 24 hours. If an error is confirmed, we fix it immediately and notify everyone who reported the issue.

Mix Design Questions

We're happy to answer questions about concrete mix design procedures, IS 10262:2019 vs ACI 211.1 differences, material selection, water-cement ratio calculations, and admixture dosing. Please note:

  • We can: Explain general mix design principles, clarify code requirements, suggest material alternatives, and help you understand calculator outputs
  • We cannot: Perform full custom mix designs for your specific project, approve your mix for structural use, or provide stamped engineering calculations

For project-specific engineering advice requiring liability, please consult a licensed structural engineer in your jurisdiction.

Feature Requests

We actively develop new calculators and features based on user demand. Popular requests that we've already implemented include:

  • Moisture correction calculator for damp aggregates (added 2023)
  • Rebar weight chart with cost estimation (added 2024)
  • Regional mix design guides for UAE and Pakistan (added 2025)
  • Steel hollow section weight calculator (added 2025)
  • PDF export for mix design reports (added 2026)

If you have a calculation you perform frequently or a tool you wish existed, let us know. We prioritize features that benefit the largest number of users.

Technical Support

If you're having trouble using a calculator, understanding its output, or accessing a feature, we can help guide you through it. Common support requests include:

  • How to interpret mix design output (what does "adjust for moisture" mean?)
  • How to convert calculator results to job-site batching (volume to weight conversion)
  • How to use our tools with specific cement types or regional materials
  • How to download or print calculation reports
  • Browser compatibility issues or mobile display problems

Educational and Research Collaboration

We welcome collaboration with universities, research institutions, and educational programs. If you're:

  • Teaching a concrete technology or structural design course and want to use our calculators in class
  • Conducting research on mix design optimization or sustainable concrete
  • Writing a textbook or educational material and want to reference our tools
  • Developing a student competition or academic project involving mix design

Please reach out — we're happy to discuss how MixDesignCalc.com can support your educational or research goals. We can provide detailed methodology documentation, custom calculator versions for specific research needs, or guest lectures on mix design for engineering courses.

What We Cannot Help With

To set clear expectations, here are types of requests we generally cannot fulfill:

Project-Specific Engineering Services

We do not provide stamped engineering calculations, structural approvals, or project-specific mix designs that carry legal liability. MixDesignCalc.com is an educational resource and calculation tool — not a replacement for hiring a qualified structural engineer for your project.

For residential construction, commercial buildings, bridges, dams, or any project requiring engineering approval, always engage a licensed professional engineer in your region who can visit the site, review your specific requirements, and provide certified calculations.

Material Testing or Lab Services

We do not operate a material testing laboratory and cannot test your cement, aggregates, or concrete samples. For material characterization, cube testing, sieve analysis, or quality control testing, contact an accredited civil engineering laboratory in your area. Many universities and private testing firms offer these services.

Legal or Contractual Disputes

We cannot provide expert testimony, forensic analysis, or opinions for construction disputes, litigation, or insurance claims. If you're involved in a dispute regarding concrete quality, structural failure, or contractor performance, engage a forensic engineer or consulting firm specializing in construction litigation support.

Competitive Product Analysis

We do not perform comparative analyses of proprietary cement brands, ready-mix suppliers, or admixture products. Our tools and guides are brand-neutral. For information about specific commercial products, contact the manufacturers directly.

⚠️ Emergency Situations: If you have a structural emergency — active concrete failure, imminent collapse risk, safety hazard on an active construction site — do NOT rely on email contact. Immediately contact local emergency services, evacuate the area if needed, and engage a qualified structural engineer for urgent on-site assessment. Our email response time of 2-3 days is not appropriate for emergency situations.

Tips for Getting Faster Responses

To help us respond to your inquiry more quickly and accurately, please:

Be Specific

Instead of "Your calculator is wrong," provide: "The M25 mix design calculator shows 345 kg cement per m³, but IS 10262:2019 Table 5 suggests 340 kg for 20mm aggregate. Can you clarify?" Specific details help us diagnose and respond faster.

Include Relevant Context

Tell us: What grade of concrete? Which country/region? What materials do you have available? What code are you following? This context helps us provide regionally appropriate guidance.

One Topic Per Message

If you have multiple unrelated questions (e.g., one about steel weight calculation and another about concrete curing), send separate messages. This helps us route your query to the right team member and ensures nothing gets overlooked.

Check Existing Resources First

Browse our blog, FAQ page, and calculator help text before emailing. Many common questions are already answered in detail on the website, and you'll get your answer immediately rather than waiting for a reply.

Feedback That Helps Us Improve

We especially value feedback that helps make MixDesignCalc.com better for everyone:

  • Calculator accuracy: Report any discrepancies between our output and code formulas, worked examples from textbooks, or results from other reputable sources
  • Usability issues: Tell us if a calculator is confusing, if the interface is hard to use on mobile, or if instructions are unclear
  • Missing features: Let us know if you had to use an external tool for something that logically fits within our scope
  • Real-world application: Share how you used our tools on an actual project — these stories inspire us and help us understand how engineers use our calculators in practice
  • Regional variations: If you notice our guidance doesn't align with local practices in your country, tell us — we want to improve our regional coverage

Your voice matters. Every calculator we've built, every feature we've added, and every bug we've fixed started with a message from a user like you. Thank you for taking the time to reach out — we read every word and genuinely appreciate your input.
